Current obsession: The show Atlanta, the Choices interactive stories (I’m currently reading the drama in The Royal Masquerade; the stories are pretty good), and podcast shows, especially those by Qcode, cleaning products and organizing appliances like on tiktok

when talking to little kids (mainly little girls) I’m reminded how the education system will pigeonhole you not only to go into the corporate world for a job and killing almost all imagination, but it desperately tries to eliminate all passion and drive if you like more than one subject
math and history? pick one. language and anatomy? chasing both is too expensive and time-consuming in college. art and music? good fucking luck
I cry for all little children who are so excited about certain things and want to pursue both because soon they’ll be shaved down and dulled to conform perfectly to the system, and it’s so fucking sad
And of course I speak from personal experience as well, namely several fields of science and several forms of art (history as a hobby of interest). Now, my career field isn’t in either of those
But sometimes I wonder, if I was given the opportunity to work on a screenplay with another writer, or if I could get a free ride education in planetary astronomy (free ride because I’m poor, lbr) I sometimes wonder if I’d take those offers, because those loves haven’t ever died still
